Elegance Cosmetic Tattooing

When you are choosing someone to Microblade your brows you want the very best you can get.

The Branko Babic Microblading Academy is number one in the world and... produces extremely highly trained therapists.

Certificates are only provided when each student had completed intensive training followed by coursework and case studies which takes months of hard work.

Unfortunately not all training is the same. It is very important to check the certificate/qualification your chosen therapist holds. Unfortunately there are 2 day courses out there that offer a "Certificate on Completion". This means that after 2 days and 1 practical assessment, this therapist has a certificate and can work on clients. Ask your therapist for course details and look online if you have any doubts.

What is Micro-blading?

Micro-blading (or eyebrow embroidery) is a relatively new, manual method. It is considered to be semi-permanent, as compared to the traditional hair-stroke technique. It is done using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the epidermis. Because we’re impacting colour closer to the surface, the strokes appear crisp and very fine. There is no “spilling” under the skin.

This method is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. The results are natural looking, hair-like strokes, regardless of the amount of hair present.  People suffering from alopecia, trichotillomania or any other condition that causes hair loss benefit greatly from Micro-blading, as well as people who simply aren't happy with their eyebrows.

The pigments used in this method have been formulated to match your original eyebrow colour, and if the eyebrows are still present, blend perfectly into them. The results are a natural, flawless, fuller looking brow. Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over a two week period. It is absolutely crucial to have a touch up done, as it is very difficult to predict how well the skin will retain the pigment.

The results can last anywhere from  1 to 3 years, depending on different factors affecting the procedure. However, a touch up once a year is recommended to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

Before choosing a technician for your procedure, PLEASE make sure you check out their previous work. Going blindly is never a good idea. Technicians who are proficient always provide before/after photos. Do not take anyone’s word for it. Always see with your own eyes and make an educated decision, based on their previous work. This is, after all, your face and even semi-permanent make up can cause some permanent changes to your skin. In this wonderful, technologically-advanced world, we can access just about any information we need. Use it to your advantage and be safe.

  • Is it painful?
No. While there is some discomfort associated with semi-permanent make up, most people would not classify it as pain. New topical anaesthetics are available to us that numb the area locally and I also use a lidocaine based anaesthetic during the treatment too. It’s very common to hear from clients that it wasn't as painful as they anticipated.

  • How long does the procedure take?
Allow 2-3 hours for the procedure. I will spend most of the time analyzing your features and designing the best shape to complement your facial morphology. Your input is greatly valued at this stage, as you are most comfortable with your face. Once the shape and colours have been agreed upon, the tattoo process takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

  • What can I expect the day of the procedure?
First, your features will be carefully analyzed. Sometimes, our own brows are not perfect and cause us to look older or tired. Sometimes, our topical make up ages us. I will make recommendations on shape, design and colour according to your individual needs. Once the design has been agreed upon, your cosmetic tattoo will be applied. There may be some swelling and redness following the procedure. Your tattoo will appear darker initially, but the colour will soften within a few days. I will send you home with everything you need to care for your new brows.

  • How do you choose designs and colours?
Every face is different and I take great effort to ensure the colour and shape is just right for you. Designs are chosen to maximize the potential of your own face. Making a subtle change in the placement of the arch or elongating the brow itself can make an enormous difference in how you look. This is the most time consuming part of the procedure as well as the most important. It is also the part of the treatment where it is vital to get involved. You know how you want to look, and while I can make suggestions the final decision it yours. We will not do anything until you are completely happy.
